Best thing about crockpot recipes they are short sweet and amazing! This recipe originally called for Lemon Lime Soda for the sugar base and brown sugar. I made some substitutes to make this a healthy delicious Paleo recipe! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup Coconut Sugar
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 2 Tbsp Coconut Aminos
- 2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Combine all ingredients
- Put chicken at bottom of crockpot
- Pour over chicken
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4
Once chicken is cooked take sauce from crockpot and bring to a boil. Take 3/4 cups water and 1.5 Tbsp arrowroot powder and mix. Remove pot from heat and slowly mix in arrowroot/water mixture to sauce, set aside to cool down. It will thicken up as it cools.
In my picture I didn’t do this but I highly recommend shredding the chicken and mixing the sauce with the chicken, its amazingggg that way, and you could even make it into a Pulled Chicken Sandwich. ❤
